Riding Lessons
Matter's riding program is one of the most popular program in the Calgary area. We are located just east of Crossfield, at 29335 range road 273 Acme.
We are a western barn, specialising in barrel racing. We can coach every age and level of rider, your safety is our priority.
We are fully insured and certified with equestrian Canada. All our horses are well trained for each individual level of rider.
We respect our riders needs and make sure we work together through your small or big goals..
We offer a safe, healthy and fun environment to learn about horse riding. Everybody is welcome no matter your age or level of riding.
At Matter's you will never feel judged, we all started somewhere, we will assist you with knowledge and passion for this beautiful sport.
What do I need to ride ?
What to Bring for Your Riding Lesson
The horse and all necessary equipment are provided. All you need to bring is a pair of jeans and boots. Ideally, cowboy boots are recommended, but to get started, rain boots or any small boots with a heel will work just fine.
If you decide to continue riding after a few lessons, investing in proper riding gear will help improve your comfort and performance in the saddle.
Helmet Policy:
- mandatory for all riders 18 years old and under.
- over 18, helmets are optional but strongly encouraged.
- We recommend bringing your own helmet for the best fit and hygiene. However, we can provide helmets for beginners.
Footwear Reminder:
Closed-toe shoes or boots are required for your safety. Please, no sandals or open-toed shoes.
We are fully insured and certified by Equestrian Canada, ensuring a safe and professional experience for all riders.
Lessons info
At Matter's we offer private and semi-private lessons.
During the lessons we work on horsemanship on the ground and in the saddle. Understanding horse behaviors, their needs and how to communicate with them.
Horses are a great way to help build leadership, better self esteem,team work skills, help with anxiety and self development.
We work on managing emotions, caring for others, communication skills, body language and much more.
We work on the basics in the saddle, we also offer the option to work on different riding methods and how to train a horse. As a licensed coach I focus on the equestrian Canada learn to ride program. It's a great program to built a solid riding foundation and improve your riding skills.
Every session is 1 hour.
Rates for lessons are as follows : Private lessons are $80.00 and semi-private $65.00.
