About our program
At Matter’s, we offer both private and semi-private riding lessons. Each session is 1 hour long and designed to help you grow both as a rider and as a horseperson.
Our lessons focus on horsemanship, both on the ground and in the saddle. You’ll learn to understand horse behavior, their needs, and how to communicate with them effectively. We believe that horses can play a powerful role in personal development—helping to build leadership, confidence, emotional regulation, teamwork, and communication skills.
We cover:
- Safe handling & groundwork
- Body language & connection
- The basics of riding
- Optional training techniques & riding styles
- How to train horses or improve your performance
- Horse health & wellness care
As a licensed coach, I teach through the Equestrian Canada “Learn to Ride” program, which is a proven way to build a strong and safe foundation in the saddle while continuously improving your riding skills.
Lesson Rates:
- $80.00
- $65.00
If you're new and would like to book an introductory lesson, please visit our Contact page and let us know what you’re interested in—we’d love to help you get started!

What to Bring for Your Riding Lesson
The horse and all necessary equipment are provided. All you need to bring is a pair of jeans and boots. Ideally, cowboy boots are recommended, but to get started, rain boots or any small boots with a heel will work just fine.
If you decide to continue riding after a few lessons, investing in proper riding gear will help improve your comfort and performance in the saddle.
Helmet Policy:
- mandatory for all riders 18 years old and under.
- over 18, helmets are optional but strongly encouraged.
- We recommend bringing your own helmet for the best fit and hygiene. However, we can provide helmets for beginners.
Footwear Reminder:
Closed-toe shoes or boots are required for your safety. Please, no sandals or open-toed shoes.
We are fully insured and certified by Equestrian Canada, ensuring a safe and professional experience for all riders.
